In The Garden Spirit Tree Benefits The Community House/Sanibel Community Association

by R.S. Walsh

In The Garden – Sanibel’s Retail Garden Center and Outdoor Showroom – has planted a spirit tree that will benefit island non-profits. The Olive tree was chosen because it represents love and charity. Spirit Tree donations from November 1-30 benefit The Community House/Sanibel Community Association.

Canvas spirit tree tags can be purchased at the garden center gift shop for $5.00. Purchasers can write well-wishes or blessings on the tags and attach them to the tree. All tag sales will be donated to The Community House/Sanibel Community Association. In The Garden will match all tag sales.

The Community House is a unique and special place rich in history that has been serving both Sanibel and Captiva Islands since 1927. Operated by the Sanibel Community Association (SCA), it is a non-profit whose mission is “To enrich community spirit through educational, cultural, and social gatherings in our historic Community House.”

“We invite everyone to stop by and add their good thoughts, well-wishes and blessings to our spirit tree,” said Lisa Walsh, owner of In The Garden and R.S. Walsh Landscaping. “All tag sales will be donated to different local charity each month through April.”
